1. Ministry signs MoU with Chhattisgarh government for railway development

The Ministry of Railways signed a MoU with Government of Chhattisgarh for the “Formation of Joint Venture Companies for Development of Railways infrastructure in Chhattisgarh state”.

2. India, UAE to sign civil nuclear agreement

India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are going to sign a civil nuclear cooperation agreement during the visit of crown prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Mohammed Bin Zahad Al Nahyan.

3. International Conference & Exhibition on Terrestrial & Satellite Broadcasting held in New Delhi

• The 23rd edition of International Conference and Exhibition on Terrestrial & Satellite Broadcasting was held in New Delhi.
• The 3-day of conference organized by the Broadcast Engineering Society (India). The theme of the conference is ‘Hybrid Technologies in Broadcasting New Opportunities’.
• Nearly, 300 companies from 25 countries displayed their products directly or through their dealers and distributors in India.  

4. India to impart submarine training to Indonesia

• India has agreed to convey submarine training to Indonesia as part of a mutual effort to diversify defence cooperation during  Defence Secretary Mohan Kumar’s South East Asia visit.
• The two countries also agreed to cooperate in defence manufacturing and expand military to military cooperation.

5. Sourabh Verma Wins Men’s Singles title

Sourabh Verma won the Men’s Singles title by defeating Lakshya Sen in the 81 st Senior National Badminton Championships tournament played in Patna yesterday. Sourabh beat Lakshya Sen 21-13, 21-12.

6. Arunachal Pradesh – first NE state to implement e-Cabinet solution

Arunachal Pradesh became the first state in the northeast to develop the e-Cabinet solution for the state cabinet members. Under this system, the cabinet members can access the cabinet notes before the meeting.

7. Hyderabad Surgeon Raghu Ram Honored with B C Roy Award

• The President of Association of Breast Surgeons of India (ABSI), Dr. P Raghu Ram has won the prestigious Dr. B C Roy National Award.
• For the outstanding service in the field of socio-medical relief, Raghu Ram has achieved this Dr. B C Roy National Award 2016.
•  President Pranab Mukherjee will give away the Awards to the winners on July 1, 2017, which is also observed as National Doctors Day

8. Schneider Electric powers 2 GW of solar capacity

• Schneider Electric India announced it has powered more than 2GW of solar capacity in India through its inverters, transformers and other medium voltage equipment and expects to achieve 2.5 GW by March.
• Of the country’s cumulative solar capacity of 10,000 MW, 20 per cent is flowing through Schneider Electric’s equipment.
